Intermot 2014: Suzuki GSX-R1000 Gets ABS

With a brand new Inline-Four MotoGP race bike set to debut later this year, you’d think Suzuki would choose this moment to update its GSX-R1000 as well. You’d be thinking wrong however, as the GSX-R1000 returns for 2015 with just ABS as standard equipment and bold new graphics.

Of course, one of those new graphics sets is the spitting image of the graphics seen on the GSX-RR MotoGP prototype. With a deep, bold blue color accented with yellow stripes and Suzuki lettering across the fairings, it certainly is an attractive look. However, as much as some would like to believe, a cool paint scheme doesn’t add any more power.

Just because a new GSX-R1000 announcement wasn’t made at Intermot, all is not lost. With Kawasaki stealing the show with its Ninja H2 unveiling and Ducati showing off its new Scrambler, Suzuki may not want to compete for the limelight. Instead, if Suzuki has a major GSX-R1000 announcement, it may choose to announce it the EICMA show coming up in Milan. Stay tuned.
