Hybrid Dynamics to acquire custom motorcycle maker

Deal could produce high-end hybrid luxury bikes
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, Apr. 02, 2008
A hybrid technology company has announced its intent to purchase custom motorcycle manufacturer Delaware American Motors.

Hybrid Dynamics has entered a letter of intent to acquire the New Jersey-based manufacturer.

Utah-based, Hybrid Dynamics develops proprietary technology combining gasoline engines with electric motor and hydraulic technologies.

Delaware Americans in-house design and state-of-the-art prototyping capability, coupled with Hybrids broad-market vision and green-technology approach, make the two companies perfect partners, says Paul Ressler, president of Hybrid Dynamics.

Delaware American is known for its high-end luxury motorcycles, including the recently released DAM Tech Twin American Series motorcycle. Limited to just 13 bikes, one for each of Americas original colonies, each features the proprietary DAM Apex design with an S&S 124 cubic inch 140 horsepower v-twin engine and a top speed of 140 mph.

The proposed acquisition could see future Delaware American motorcycles featuring Hybrid Dynamics Extend Range Technology, a drive-train design that uses three separate motors to maximize fuel efficiency.

Hybrids emphasis on advanced drive-train technologies can only enhance our already impressive performance characteristics, says Mark Klein, owner of Delaware American. Both companies bring deeply-experienced, innovative management to the table. These two groups together make a formidable team that can do great things in the motorsports arena.

The purchase is expected to close by April 30.
