Hacking suspension lifted
AMA Pro Racing placed the Attack Kawasaki racer on probation and ruled that his suspension, assessed after an incident in the press area following the March 23 Daytona Sportbike race at Auto Club Speedway, will not be served during the 2009 season. Hacking allegedly used a string of profane language while leaving the post-race press conference at Auto Club Speedway. During the press conference, Hacking also exchanged words with Team M4 Suzukis Jason DiSalvo.
Hacking paid a $4,000 fine and issued a letter of apology at the meeting. Hacking will remain on probation for the remainder of the season and any violations would lead to the immediate enforcement of the one-event penalty on top of any other penalties related to the infraction.
Hacking currently holds the lead in the Daytona Sportbike rider standings with a 69-60 edge over DiSalvo and will be able to defend his lead at the April 3-5 double-header at Road Atlanta in Braswelton, Ga.
