F1 racer tests BMW HP2 Megamoto

Heidfeld currently fifth in driver standings
By Motorcycle.Com Staff, May. 06, 2008
Formula One racer Nick Heidfeld will get to try out the new BMW HP2 Megamoto.

Heidfeld, who races for BMW Sauber F1 team, is currently fifth in the F1 driver standings with 16 points, thanks largely to a second-place finish in the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.

The Megamoto is a fascinating bike, a really fantastic motorcycle, says Heidfeld. Its light weight and low centre of gravity promise top level handling. And it even manages to look special at the same time.

Swiss motorists will soon become familiar with the sight of F1 racer Nick Heidfeld riding a BMW HP2 Megamoto.

Heidfeld received the HP2 Megamoto at an appearance at BMWs facilities in Munich, Germany. He will ride the bike through trips around his home in Switzerland.

The HP2 Megamoto uses a flat-twin engine with 113 hp at 7,500 rpm with a light weight of 440 lbs. The motard-style bike also features an adjustable hlins rear strut, a twin Akrapovic exhaust system and optional anti-lock brakes.
